The Proposal



At our end of the year semi-formal dance, I got down on my knee and asked Janette to marry me.

She said Yes!!

Joran,

Congratulations again on your engagement. I also enjoyed reading your take on Nicaragua. My only comparison would be seeing very similar things when I worked in inner-city Boston for Rent-A-Center and most of my co-workers had multiple kids out of wedlock, often by different mothers. To their credit, however, they generally took care of their children financially and often had custody.

I'm going to try to glean some similar insights out of Japan and the other parts of Asia I visit in the fall.
